The Junior Faculty Mentoring Program (JFMP) is hosting a day-long mentoring workshop in conjunction with the 2027 AFA meetings in Washington, DC. Twenty scholars have generously offered to serve as mentors. The event will include both breakout research sessions and panel discussions led by mentors. The breakout sessions will be in small groups, organized by research area. The panel discussions will focus on issues such as publishing, building networks, effective teaching, and work/life balance.
Applications are open to all junior faculty who have not yet received tenure. Inclusion in the workshop will be determined at random from those who submit complete applications. The workshop is designed to offer participants intensive mentoring and networking opportunities. Thus, we encourage people who commit to the entire workshop on Saturday, January 2, 2027 to apply. The event is co-organized by AFFECT.
